Almac Conveyor Co. Ltd. is a privately owned Canadian company,
established by Al McLaren and Glen Lewis in 1969. Both gentlemen
earned their reputation in the conveyor business as former
employees of Lamson Conveyor Company, where Mr. McLaren worked
as a Plant/Installation Manager and Mr. Lewis as an Engineer
Manager.

In the beginning, Almac was located in Scarborough,
Ontario (a suburb of Toronto) and the scope of its product
lines consisted of portable, gravity, belt and live roller
conveyors.

As business prospered in 1974, Almac moved to a larger location,
still within Scarborough. Then, in 1989 it was relocated to
St. Clair Avenue, Toronto, where it expanded its design team
to meet the demand of customized products.
In 1991, Stewart McLaren, Al's son, merged his successful
conveyor installation business and became the General Manager.
1994 saw the departure of Glen Lewis, as Al McLaren assumed
100% ownership of Almac.

Stewart assumed the position of President in
1996, as Al began his move into a well-deserved retirement.
The same year, unable to expand further at the St. Clair location,
Almac was once again relocated to larger premises 30 km north
of Toronto, on Engelhard Drive in Aurora. This is where Almac
still calls home.
Over the years, Almac has earned a solid reputation for tailoring
quality equipment to meet specific client requirements. In
time, they became known as the "Unit Handling Specialists",
as the organization was involved with the designing, engineering,
manufacturing, installing and commissioning of complete systems.
Almac has enjoyed much success since those meager beginnings
in 1969, as now they have been supplying equipment to virtually
every industry segment. The unwavering dedication to customer
satisfaction has allowed Almac to supply equipment throughout
North America, the Pacific Rim, Europe and Latin America.
In keeping with the Almac reputation and vision of Quality,
Service, Innovation, Value and Partnership, Almac's dedicated
team has continued to successfully move Almac forward in its
quest to attain even greater milestones.
With over 30 years of respectful business behind them, Almac
looks forward to continuing a diversification of product offerings,
commitment to R&D, ongoing acquisition of state-of-the-art
equipment, seeking out skilled personnel and acquiring their
ISO accreditation.
